Revlon ColorBurst Lipstick - Peach, Coral & True Red

Yes - we know we're slow coaches - but yesterday we finally got the chance to test out the brand new Revlon Colorburst Lipsticks. Caution: swanky packaging alert!

Peach, Coral & True Red

After a rather lackluster affair with Revlon's Matte lipsticks back in the summer of 2009, we were a bit dubious about how the ColorBurst formula would stand up against the hype of it's revamped look. We needn't have worried - with just one brush against our pout the sun shone brighter, crying babies laughed and Lionel 'yes it's me you're looking for' Richie sung like the 1980's pop god he is. Yes, this was the real thing. This was love at first swipe.

Peach, Coral & True Red swatched

Possessing a somewhat sheer consistency, ColorBurst builds up to leave the lips looking unashamedly bold. The texture sits comfortably against the skin, and the slanted bullet allows for both quick and even coverage. Out of the three shades, we adored the versatility of Peach - a brown based pink offering a truly fantastic take on the classic nude lip.

Peach applied directly to lips

Coral applied directly to lips

True Red applied directly to lips
(please excuse the bleeding around the lip line. We didn't thoroughly remove our cleanser!)

Each colour gave around 2 hours wear, although the boldness of True Red and Coral meant they could have done with touch ups about 60 minutes in. The formula feels ultra light to wear and is free from any type of greasiness (which blissfully stops the colour slipping around after application).

Revlon haven't reinvented the wheel here, but we can think of several high end brands they've definitely trumped. If you haven't already, this is certainly one to check out.

Revlon ColorBurst Lipstick is available worldwide at all good drug stores and for £7.99 (currently on a limited 3 for 2 offer).

Ooh, these look gorgeous! Peach is such a 'me' color, too. My only wish for this line is that they had a nice scent of some kind - it'd make them seem a lot more luxe.

I really like this line of lipstick, and currently own Soft Rose and Raspberry. Now that Peach is just calling my name! Must. exercise. self-discipline. :)

Love these! I have Soft Rose but now these other colours are calling me -- come home to mama time!
